3. Cyberbullying and Cellular Telephones Discussion
   Minutes: Dr. Johnson reviewed the District's current cell phone policy and stressed his concerns with "cyber-bulling." Dr. Johnson suggested a total cell phone ban in schools.
   
   Mr. Williams reviewed Florida Statutes and rules relating to these policies.
   
   Board Members discussed: safety issues; working with PTA's and SAC's; call-out to parents to explain; random and mass searching; disciplinary actions; working with parents; deal with why harassment is happening in the schools; and policy for "on-line student" harassment.
   
   Board Members were in consensus to lobby for a change in state law that would enable school districts to banish cell phones on school campuses.
   
   Dr. Johnson stated that staff will work with Vern Crawford, the Legislative Delegation and FSBA to draft a policy to bring back to the Board for final approval.
